Silver repeating clockwatch with self strike

A big, heavy French silver hour repeating clock watch with self strike, circa 1810. Full plate gilt very complicated verge movement, pierced and engraved balance cock, these repeaters such as this example are much more advanced and complex. Using a double barrel, this timepiece chimes from a simple push of the small button and the chiming function can be repeated several times before the spring needs to be rewound. Repeating hours, released by small pendant button, slide in the band to block the push button, two barrels, winding for the gear train, winding for repeater and self striking train, self striking hours and half hours. Screwed white enamel dial with Arabic numerals and blued steel Breguet hands. Engine turned case, maker’s punch CHFB.
