Verge pocket watch “à quatre couleurs”

A very fine French double cased gold enamel “à quatre couleurs” verge pocket watch, circa 1770.
Two cases: a protective outer case – firegilt, glazed and moulded, with large lateral hinge. And an inner case – 18 carat rose gold, paste-set bezel, with braid patterned case band, on the back cover a polychrome enamel medallion with the miniature portrait of a noble lady adorned with roses holding a bird in her hand; paste-set ribbon-shaped border, framed by two-colour gold flower tendrils, paste-set thumb piece and large lateral hinge. Enamel dial with radial Roman hours and paste-set Louis XV hands. Full plate movement, keywind and firegilt, with chain/fusee, waisted solid movement pillars, three-arm brass balance and fine florally engraved and pierced balance bridge.
