An elegant French, 18 carat gold and diamond set enamel pendant watch with a matching pendant brooch, circa 1900. Accompanied by its matching brooch. A decorative enamel guilloche case with diamond star pattern. Green enamel dial with gold Arabic numerals and gold hands. Manual mechanical movement. With its brooch in gold and green enamel representing a trunk and grape leaves. Cylinder escapement. Signed case.

Le Roy & fils, a French watch manufacturer
The Paris company Leroy, founded by Bazile-Charles Leroy, also known as LeRoy, was renamed Le Roy et Fils in 1828, as the son, Louis-Charles Le Roy, became a co-owner of the company. From 1829, the company worked as a court watchmaker for the dukes of Bourbon and Chartres. Louis-Charles sold the company to Georges Casimir Halley des Fontaines in 1845 but kept the name.

Despite changing owners several times, including a Le Roy since 1879, but from a completely different family, the name of the company, which only closed in 1980, was retained. Le Roy et Fils is known for very high-quality pocket watches and marine chronometers. 1771. Louis Leroy became a watchmaker at this company in 1879 ,which he took over with Jules Halley des Fontaines. He changed the name of this company to L. Leroy & Cie. Louis’ brothers, Léon Leroy, traded with him in 1895 and became partners in 1914.
