Gold pocket watch verge escapement

An extravagant 20K multi-coloured gold verge watch, made by Romilly in Paris, France circa 1770. The excellent quality open faced case is crafted from 20 Carat gold in four different colours. Furthermore the case has a five part lateral hinge, a figured scene on back, finest sound openings and a pendant with large diamond with a diameter of circa 7 mm and an opening pusher also with large diamond and finally a bell. The white enamel dial has an outer ring with black Arabic numerals for the seconds and black Roman numerals for the hours and original hands with diamonds. The movement has a verge escapement.

Romilly

He was born in 1758 in the town of Tonbridge, England and received a formal education at a school in Greenwich.
