Verge watch set with pearls and diamonds by Adeline
–
A French gold/enamel verge repeating pocket watch set with pearls and diamonds, circa 1770. The watch boasts a high-quality case made of 22K gold, featuring blue engine-turned enamel and gold paillon inlays. It is adorned with large half Oriental pearls on both sides and has a small opening button on the band. The French 22K gold punches on the watch suggest it was made in 1769. The watch has a signed verge movement that can repeat the hours and quarters. The enamel dial (small craquelling) has Arabic radial hours, a minutes track with five-minute numerals, and diamond-set hands.
