Gold gentleman’s pocket watch

Important French 18 carat three colour gold double sided quarter repeating à toc pocket watch with full calendar made by Jean-Antoine Lépine in Paris, circa 1780. The frosted gilt full plate movement with two hammers, solid movement pillars, a cylinder escapement, steel cylinder wheel and three armed brass balance. White enamel dial on the front with Roman hours, an outer minute track, outermost five minute numerals and gold poker & beetle hands. The white enamel dial on the back with concentric date, month, moon phases, moon age and days of the week indication, Arabic numerals and gold poker & beetle hands. The case with a lateral hinge and both bezels feature floral repoussé decoration.
