A very fine gold/enamel verge watch with corresponding gold/enamel chatelaine by Du Mont French, circa 1760. An 18 carat gold, one side with gemstones, back with multi colored enamel, signed verge movement, excellently preserved enamel dial, decorated, pink gold hands, corresponding original chatelaine with watch key and seal pendant, splendid enamel case, chatelaine length ca.12 cm, in working order. The chatelaine is remarkable, the front is made of high quality gold and the back with gilt brass. This type of chatelaine is extremely rare, it combines the pomp of a gold chatelaine and the stability of a metal chatelaine.
