A heavy French 18 carat gold hunting cased minute repeating pocket watch with chronograph, circa 1910. Gilt, frosted bridge movement, counterpoised lever, blued screws, finely ground, bevelled chronograph steel parts, ratchet wheel, two hammers, two gongs, wolfteeth winding wheels, gold screwed compensation balance, blued balance spring, ruby endstone on lever and escape wheel, oval hallmark Viper of the observatory in Besancon. White enamel dial with Roman hours, sunken auxiliary seconds, sunken 30 minutes counter and gold spade hands. Matted à goutte case, decorative Art Nouveau monogram RL with engraved laurel wreaths, pusher for chronograph at 12, slide for repeating mechanism. Cuvette signed.
