A fine Swiss, quarter repeating, a silver pocket watch with striking automaton Jacks, circa 1820. Roman Gods by Louis Robert à Genève. An engine-turned case, gilt metal cuvette fixed to the movement ring. Small white enamel dial, set in the centre with Breguet numerals and outer minute divisions, set on royal blue enamel ground fitted with animated varicoloured gold Jacks in Roman costume appearing to strike the hours and quarters, a lion on a grassy bank below. A frosted gilt full-plate movement, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, continental cock, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Cuvette signed.
