Rare watch made of a gold coloured gilded bronze

A rare verge watch for the Ottoman market with very fine enamel painting, made by Basile le Roy in Paris, France, circa 1800. The numbered leton case of this watch was crafted from gilded bronze and features a rim, a bow and a pendant decorated with floral scenes, a very fine enamel painting on the back depicting a maritime scene and the case maker’s mark IR. The white enamel dial features an outer minute and hour track with Ottoman numerals. The numbered movement is equipped with a verge escapement and is hinged to the front.
The dial (in Ottoman) and the movement are signed and the case and movement bear matching numbers.
