French verge Oignon with gilt dial in a gilt consular case circa 1690. Full plate fire gilt fusee movement, slender Egyptian pillars. Pierced and engraved  cock  with mock pendulum, three-arm steel balance with spiral blue steel hairspring.  Small silver regulator index. Gilt dial with cartouches and black Roman numerals in it, inside ring marked for the hours and quarters. Wound through the center of the dial with a single hand. Deep gilt metal consular case, back decoratively chased and engraved, depicting a basket surrounded by foliage, birds, bezel decorated with foliage.
