An adorable miniature, French pearl set gold enamel Parisian pocket watch, circa 1785.
Small full plate movement, key winding, chain/fusee, three-arm steel balance. Enamel dial with Arabic radial hours, outer minutes track with five minutes numerals, and gold hands. 18K gold/enamel case with a border of half-pearls on both sides, intricately engine-turned and translucent cobalt blue enamel on the back, framed by a border of gold paillon decor, fee stamp Henri Clavel, and Paris guild annual stamp X for the years 1785-1786. In the centre is an en-grisaille(grey painting) enamel miniature depicting Hector’s farewell to Andromache.

Two watchmakers named Yersin are listed: Jean-Louis and probably his son Jonas-Louis. Both were based in the Rue St-André des Arcs in Paris in 1777/1778, Jonas-Louis achieved the title of master in 1778.
