An exquisite, French, Louis XV gold/enamel verge pocket watch with pearl setting, from fantastic quality, circa 1875. Made by royal watchmaker Leroy Paris.
Fine bar movement, cylinder escapement, key winding. Very beautiful screwed Louis XV enamel dial with Roman radial hours, Arabic five-minute divisions, and filigree-blued steel hands. Beautiful 18-carat pink gold, Louis XV case with a prominent lateral hinge. Both sides are set with miniature Oriental pearls, and the back has a beautiful, perfectly preserved enamel painting. The spring lid opens by pushers in the pendant and the dome is signed.
