Silver watch with virgule escapement

A French silver open faced quarter repeating music pocket watch, circa 1820. Fine movement with two barrels, the larger barrel, being half the diameter of the movement, providing the power for the musical train, smaller barrel for gear train. Virgule escapement, repeating hours and quarter hours on two steel gongs, by depressing the pendant, playing music on the hour or on demand by depressing the small button at one o’clock.
White enamel dial, Breguet steel hands. Engine turned case with small button at one o’clock for music release. Winding through the back.
