A French two tone gold front winding verge pocket watch with key, decorated with a polychrome enamel miniature, made by Berthoud in Paris, circa 1800. The watch features a rooster movement with verge wheel escapement and chain fusee. It has a white enamel dial with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes. The multicoloured 18 carat gold case shows a polychrome miniature of a young woman’s bust, surrounded by falling flowers.
