A French Louis XV 20K varicoloured gold and paste-set lady’s pendant watch, circa 1770. A paste-set and chased bezel and the border with a repeated pattern, the back decorated with an oval vignette of a lute and basket of flowers, a quiver on the ground, the interior of the back with later engraved initials. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute divisions and Arabic five-minute numerals. Gold pierced hands. A frosted gilt, full plate movement, conical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with three-arm brass balance and fl at balance spring, micrometric potence adjustment, continental pierced foliate balance cock with steel endplate, silver regulator dial. Dial and movement signed.
