An extremely rare, early precision pocket watch, made by A. Lange & Söhne in Glashütte, Germany, circa 1888. The à goutte case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold, is numbered, has a wide edge, an early case hallmark AL & S and a monogram on the back lid. The small white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel hands. The numbered early movement has a gold lever escapement and a gold escapement wheel.
Case and movement have matching numbers and dial and movement are signed.
