An extremely rare Glashütte doctor’s watch with an independent jumping seconds mechanism “seconde morte”. circa 1882. 18k rose gold case, smooth, case design “Lucia”, gold dome. Dial is enamel, Arabic “Empire” numerals, sunk center and auxiliary seconds, gold Louis XV hands. 3/4 plate movement, frosted, gilt, screwed gold chatons, applied “seconde morte”-mechanism, gold screw compensation balance, blued balance spring, florally hand-engraved balance cock, index spring fine adjusting device, gold lever – and escape wheel, chatoned diamond endstone on balance, gold-chatoned ruby endstone on lever and escape wheel.
