A German gold, decoratively engraved, quarter repeating hunting cased keyless Glashütte lever watch, made by A. Lange & Söhne, circa 1889. Retail by Wilkens & Danger, Bremen. The watch features an 18 carat gold case with a round hinge, entirely decorated with stylised motifs; the centre displays a lion’s head, while the bowl bears the dealer’s inscription Wilkers & Danger Bremen, a family coat-of-arms below, topped by a knight’s helmet, and an inscribed date 11 Juni 1889 inside.

The silvered and varicoloured gold dial, signed A. Lange & Söhne, Glashütte B/Dresden, showcases the centre and outer border decorated with chased and engraved gilded flowers and foliage. It includes a chapter ring marked with Roman numerals, engraved scrolls, an outer minute ring, a sunken subsidiary seconds dial, and blued steel fleur-de-lys hands. The mechanical movement features a crown winder, a plate signed and numbered A. Lange & Söhne Glashütte b/ Dresden, a striking mechanism on a gong with two hammers, and a lever escapement.
