An extremely rare, 18K yellow gold and enamel, key winding form pendant-watch in the shape of a cello, circa 1830-1840, probably from Austria or Swiss.
Early 19th-century gilded brass movement with fusee and chain, verge escapement, monometallic balance (gilded brass) and blued steel flat hairspring, and a pierced and engraved gilded continental cock. White enamel dial with suspended Breguet numerals, outer minutes track, and original blued steel hands. 18K yellow gold and enamel case, cover and case back identically decorated with red enamel and gold paillons and a vinaigrette compartment.
