An English gold hunting cased minute repeating watch, circa 1884, gilt quarter plate lateral lever movement, jeweled with some set in gold screwed chatons, bimetallic compensation balance, two hammers repeating on two gongs.
Off-white enamel dial possibly by Willis, radial Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, 18k gold hunting case, repeating activated via the slide at 4 o’clock, gold cuvette engraved Norman, gold bezel, later movement signed, case maker’s mark J.H.& Co, case hallmarked Chester for 1891.
