Gold quarter repeating cylinder

An English quarter repeating cylinder with decorative gold dial in an engine-turned gold open faced case, hallmarked London circa 1823. Full plate gilt key wind fusee movement, Harrison’s maintaining power. Plain cock with diamond endstone, polished steel regulator. Plain three arm gold balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, large steel escape wheel, pivots with end stones. Push pendant quarter repeating on two blue steel gongs. Attractive gold dial with engine turned centre, applied gold Roman numerals and a border of three colour gold decoration, gold hands. Substantial engine turned 18 Carat open face case with engine turned drum shaped middle. Chased and engraved bezels, pendant and bow. Winding through the gold cuvette. Maker’s mark ‘LC’ and the number corresponding to that on the movement.
