A very fine and early Swiss astronomical gold hunting cased pocket watch with perpetual calendar, moon phase, moon age and minute repeater, circa 1875. Made for the English market, probably by Louis Audemars.
Polished 18K gold case. Rhodium-plated precision lever movement, two hammers/two gongs, two barrels, screwed gold chatons, minute repeater. White enamel dial with Roman hours, outer minutes track, subsidiary dials at III, VI, IX and XII for the date, moon phase/seconds, day and month, and blued steel hands.
