Gold lever chronometer with one-minute tourbillon

An extremely fine and exceptionally rare, large Swiss, 18K yellow gold keyless pocket watch, circa 1938. A lever chronometer with one-minute tourbillon regulator by Hector Golay, adjusted by Modoux, Guillaume balance, a first prize winner at the 1938 Observatoire de Genève contest in category C small chronometers. The movement made in 1930 and cased in 1938, sold on October 1, 1947. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives.
Brushed silver dial with applied yellow gold Breguet numerals, outer dot minute divisions, subsidiary seconds. Yellow gold Breguet hands. A rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, stamped twice with the Seal of Geneva Quality Mark, 18 jewels, one-minute tourbillon regulator by Hector Golay, polished steel cage and bridge, calibrated lateral lever escapement, Guillaume cut Anibal-brass compensation balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and five positions, peripheral temperature and meantime adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed.

The present watch was submitted for trial at the Observatoire de Geneve on three occasions:
1) 1933 achieving 782 points
2) 1938 achieving 669 points
3) 1943 achieving 830 points
The timing adjustments were made by F. Modoux, the famous regular of Patek Philippe. In 1938, this watch obtained the first prize in category C (small chronometers). Literature: Das Tourbillon, Reinhard Meis, Verlag Laterna Magica, 1986, p. 175.
