An important and precision English 18 carat gold pocket chronometer, early 19th century: Chester, circa 1821/1823. This watch features a mechanical movement, signed Arnold London, with a lever escapement and a manual winding key. It has an ivory dial with Roman numerals, outer railway minute divisions, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and gold hands. The double 18 carat gold case is in exceptional condition, decorated on the edge and pendant with garlands of flowers. The watch key is attached, featuring a gilt metal head. Master Goldsmith: E.J.
