An as new, heavy gold enamel minute repeating hunting cased pocket watch with chronograph custom made piece for an Indian maharaja, circa 1880. 18k gold case, engine turned, à goutte, engraved gold bezel with a very fine polychrome enamelled portrait of a maharaja, pusher for chronograph at “12”, slide for repeating mechanism, glazed movement. Enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, auxiliary seconds, 30 min. counter, spade hands. 2/3 plate movement, frosted, gilt, finely ground, bevelled chronograph steel parts, ratchet wheel, 2 hammers, 2 gongs, gold screw compensation balance, counterpoised lever.
