A very fine French 18 carat gold and enamel open faced verge pocket watch, circa 1795. Full plate gilt verge movement with pierced and engraved bridge cock and polished steel coqueret, silver regulation disc with copper indicator.
White enamel dial with Arabic numerals and minute outer track and original decorative gold hands.
Case with polychrome enamel painted scene of two ladies walking in a garden surrounded by a translucent blue background with a gold multi-coloured paillon border. Enamelled pendant and front bezel.
Dial signed, movement signed and numbered.
