A fine Swiss unusual 18K gold and enamel keyless pocket watch, circa 1870. Reeded bezels, polished band, the back cover decorated with a black and gold enamel scene of the Grütli pact of 1291 which led to the creation of Switzerland. Hinged gold cuvette with engraved inscription. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five-minute numerals, subsidiary seconds and fancy pierced blued steel hands. A matte gilt movement, eight jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, cylinder escapement, three-arm balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator.
