An English gold key wind lever pocket watch, circa 1840. Gilt full plate movement, English lever, 3 armed balance. Guilloché engraved gilt dial, floral engraved centre, three colour gold foliate border, applied gilt Roman numerals and blued steel spade hands. 18 Carat engine turned open faced consular case, foliate engraved bezels, personal engravings to cuvette and inner case back, inner cap. Case stamped J.E.

The personal engravings to the inner case back and cuvette read the following ‘Presented by Her Majesty to Mis. Georgiana Eagle for her Meritorious & Extraordinary Clairvoyance produced at Osborn House Isle of Wight July 15th 1846’ and ‘Presented by W.T. Stead to Mrs Etta Wriedt through whose mediumship Queen Victorias direct voice was heard in London in July 1911’.
