A Swiss gold and enamel manually wound scarab form watch with concealed dial, circa 1890. Gilt finished cylinder movement. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track and blued steel hands, concealed beneath hinged red guilloché enamel wings with black dots of a realistically engraved scarab form case, a black enamelled bezel, the eyes set with diamonds and a finely engraved thorax. Accompanied by the original key and a short chain.
