Extremely fine and rare English 18 carat gold and enamel open faced manually wound centre seconds duplex watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1820. Finely engraved gilt brass duplex movement, plain five armed steel balance. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute divisions and quarter seconds. Case with polychrome enamel scene depicting the farewell of the husband soldier going to war, given by his son and his wife, in the manner of Richter, red, black and blue champlevé enamel geometrical decorated bezels. Movement signed.
