A fine, rare and unique Swiss 18 carat gold open faced minute repeating chronograph keyless lever pocket watch with personalized dial, circa 1914. Gilt finished lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, swan neck regulator, minute repeating on two gongs activated through a slide in the band. Inscribed gold cuvette reading Thos. B. Whitted U. S. Army, A & F 1918. Unique white enamel dial with blue lettering numerals spelling THOSBWHITTED, two sunken subsidiary dials for 30 minute register and constant seconds. Monogrammed hinged case back, chronograph operated through the crown. Case, cuvette, dial and movement signed.
