Gold open faced chronograph watch

A Swiss 18 carat yellow gold manual winding open faced pocket watch with a single pusher chronograph, made by Vacheron Constantin in Geneva, circa 1914. This watch features a mechanical movement with a lever escapement, a compensated bimetallic balance wheel, and a blued steel Breguet balance spring. Pendent winding. Gilded dial, guilloché in the centre, painted Arabic numeral hour markers, railway track and 1/5th sec graduation, subsidiary dial for the seconds at 6 o’clock, inner 24 hour numerals, and spade hands. Yellow gold basin case, guilloché reverse, bowl monogrammed J.M., Chevalier de l’Ordre National de la Légion d’Honneur, dated 15 June 1914. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed.
