The logo of the chemical company BASF can be found on the back of this watch. The company originated in 1873 when the Badische Anilin- und Soda-Fabrik merged with two Stuttgart companies. The signet was created from two coats of arms; one featuring the Stuttgart horse and the other featuring the Bavarian lion with anchor. This logo was used briefly until 1922 and then again after the company’s re-establishment in 1952. The watch was given as a gift to celebrate 25 years of service.
