A large, gold Swiss hunting-cased pocket watch, circa 1914. Presented by the Ludwigshafener Badische Anilin & Soda Fabrik (BASF) in 1914. This watch has a 14K rose gold case adorned with a monogram and a coat of arms. The enamel dial displays Breguet-style radial hours, an outer minutes track, a subsidiary seconds dial, and gold Louis XV-style hands. Additionally, it features a bridge movement with screw compensation balance and lever escapement.

The logo of the chemical company BASF can be found on the back of this watch. The company originated in 1873 when the Badische Anilin- und Soda-Fabrik merged with two Stuttgart companies. The signet was created from two coats of arms; one featuring the Stuttgart horse and the other featuring the Bavarian lion with anchor. This logo was used briefly until 1922 and then again after the company’s re-establishment in 1952. The watch was given as a gift to celebrate 25 years of service.
