A fine English 22 carat gold and enamel open faced verge pendant watch, circa 1780. Hinged gilt-brass movement, fusee and chain for the going train, verge escapement. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track and Louis XV hands. Bassine case, the back and inside back painted-on enamel depicting scenes from the life of Christ taken from an engraving by Raphael Sadeler. Movement signed. Accompanied by the Sandberg Watch Collection book.
