A fine French gold and enamel open faced key wind verge pocket watch, circa 1760. Gilt full plate fusee verge movement, pierced and engraved balance bridge, silver regulation. Cream dial with black Roman hours, outer minute track, winding aperture at 2 o’clock and gilt hands. Consular case, the case back with a polychrome enamel pastoral scene depicting a couple resting during a journey whilst servants attend to their horses and dogs sate their thirst looked on by a man with a parrot.
