A fine and early Swiss 18 carat gold open faced minute repeating keyless lever chronograph watch, circa 1894. Retailed by Cowell & Hubbard Co, Cleveland, Ohio. Nickel finished lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, minute repeating on two gongs activated through a slide in the band. Inscribed gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer red Arabic five minute divisions with calibrated 1/5th seconds ring, sunken subsidiary seconds dial and blue steeled moon style hands. Monogrammed hinged case. Case, cuvette and movement signed by maker, dial and movement signed by retailer.
