An English gold, enamel and pearl set open faced verge watch with chatelaine, circa 1775. Gilt full plate verge movement, finely pierced and engraved balance cock. Gilt enamel dial, champlevé enamel Roman numerals on brushed chapter ring, minute outer track and finely engine turned centre. Case with a purple translucent enamel over a guilloché background, split pearl set to the centre surrounded by rose cut diamond decoration, white champlevé enamel band, both bezels highlighted with split pearls. Movement signedand numbered. Matching pearl set and translucent purple enamel chatelain with key.
