A technically interesting English pocket watch/ deck watch with Massey Type II escapement, chronometer maker Robert Roskell Liverpool, circa 1824. An 18K gold, reeded mid-section, IM punch, exceptional and highly interesting lever movement, unusual construction, detachable main plate by removable steel safety spring, dust cover ring, rare Massey Type II escapement, diamond endstone, signed and numbered main plate, chain/ fusee, solid grained and engine turned gold dial with large subsidiary seconds, 1/5th scale for observation purposes, gold hands, very beautiful condition and interesting and rare English collector’s watch.
