A rare Swiss gentleman’s pocket watch, in a splendour Niello silver case, with chronograph, polychrome S.G.D.G. dial and tachy scale, circa 1910.
Niello silver case with engraved back cover depicting a hunter scene, glazed movement with engraving: Chronotachymetre Omega Breveté, and pusher for chronograph via the crown. Signed enamel dial with Arabic numerals, 15 minute counter, concentric tachy scale, centre chronograph hand, and gold spade hands. Frosted, gilt 4/5 plate movement with very finely ground chronograph steel parts, ratchet wheel, screw compensation balance, and index spring fine adjusting device.

The tachymeter dial allows measuring any speed between 10.5 and 140 miles per hour without the help of calculations. 15-minute counters starting with five individual minute segments in different colours to indicate which colour will show the speed on the spiral tachymeter scale
