Gold open faced cylinder pocket watch

A highly complicated French 18 carat pink gold open faced grande and petite sonnerie hour repeating pocket watch made by Jean-Antoine Lépine in Paris, circa 1800.
An engine turned case with two levers in the band for Grande Sonnerie/Petite Sonnerie and muting, and a further small push button in the pendant for releasing the hour repeater. White enamel dial with Breguet hour numerals, an outer minute track and very fine, extraordinary steel hands. The Lépine caliber movement features a highly complicated striking mechanism, cylinder escapement and two barrels (one Maltese cross is missing).
