A very fine hunting cased anker chronometer made by Paul Buhre in St. Petersburg, Russia, watchmaker to the Russian tsar, circa 1900. This watch has three lids, all crafted from 14 carat solid gold. The inside spring cover is engraved with a dedication in Russian and the numbered cuvette has a Cyrillic inscription (Watch Factory Paul Buhre in English). The white enamel dial has black Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued spade hands. The bridge anker chronometer movement has a pallet lever escapement, Geneva striping decoration, a large bimetallic screw balance, blued Breguet hairspring, fine adjustment, ruby stones, polished stainless steel screws, sunburst winding wheels and a crown winding mechanism.
Dial and cuvette are signed.
