A heavy Scottish 18K pink gold open faced quarter repeating duplex pocket chronometer formerly owned by the erstwhile Barons of Athenry and Earls of Louth, circa 1812.
Plain case with the engraved nobleman’s escutcheon of the Irish Earl of Louth with a banner underneath reading Pro Veritate (for the truth) on the back, hallmarked 1812 and with case maker’s mark WW. White enamel dial with Roman hours, outer minute divisions, a very large seconds register, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued steel hands. Full plate movement, engraved bridge, diamond endstone, duplex escapement, repeating the hours and quarter hours. Movement signed and numbered.
