Gold soap watch by Breting Brothers

A small Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased soap pocket watch, circa 1870. This watch features a mechanical keywound movement, with a straight line lever escapement, and is decorated with côtes de Genève and circular graining. The white enamel dial has a black minute track, black painted Roman numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial, and hollowed apple shaped hands. The front cover is made of 18 carat gold, with an inner mark reading state stamp of Neuchâtel for 18 Carat gold. It is chased, engraved, and enamelled, with floral decorations and six diamonds in the centre. The back cover is also made of 18 carat gold, marked inside with the state stamp of Neuchâtel for 18 Carat gold MR. It features chased, engraved, and enamelled floral motifs outside. The engine turned dust cover is signed Breting Brothers Geneva, and bears a number. Some diamonds are missing.
