A fine and elegant French, 18K gold and blue enamel lady’s keyless pendant watch, circa 1910. Made for Spaulding & Co. The bezel with engraved decoration, the back cover overlaid with translucent blue enamel over guilloche, gold engraved border with white enamel borders. Silvered dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions. Blue steel Breguet hands. Movement, 18 jewels, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator.

Ferdinand Verger (1851-1928) was a jeweller and watchmaker who became the French agent for Vacheron & Constantin in 1879. Also the president of the Chambre
Syndicale des Bijoutiers, he registered the trademark FV in 1896. In 1911 the firm moved to 51 rue Sainte Anne under the name of Verger Frères, with the trademark VF.
