Gold astronomical full hunter
–
An exceptionally large astronomical gold hunting cased pocket watch with seven complications made in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1890. All three lids of the plain case are crafted from 14 carat pink gold making it a heavy solid construction, it has the maker’s punch of Bernard Labarthe from Geneva and the numbered cuvette is engraved with the technical details. The original white enamel dial has subsidiary dials for the months (at 3 o’clock), the moon phase and age (at 6 o’clock), the days of the week (at 9 o’clock), the days of the month (at 12 o’clock) and steel hands. The highly complicated, glazed Quality Superieure movement has a lever escapement, minute repeater, chronograph and a triple calendar with moon phase and moon age.
