Pocket and pendant watch set with pearls
–
A gold and enamel precision pocket and pendant watch, made by Vacheron & Constantin in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1897. The numbered open faced case of this watch was crafted from 14 Carat red gold, is set with half pearls on both sides (three pearls are missing), has a gorgeous violet pink guilloché enamel, motif on the back and a Vacheron & Constantin case hallmark and is mounted on a gold miniature brooch. The extremely beautiful Louis XV enamel dial has blue Arabic five minute and Roman hour numerals and red gold hands. The numbered very fine Vacheron & Constantin precision movement has a lever escapement.
The cuvette is signed and has a dedication “Zum 10 Jahr Verlobungstage, 3 September1897” (“In memory of 1o years of engagement”).
