A fine, rare Swiss gentleman’s pocket watch for the Russian market, circa 1890.
14 carat gold engine turned case with back lid, facetted case band, engine turned and signed gold dome and the inner lid with a poem written in cyrillic letters. Signed enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, auxiliary seconds and filigree hands. Bridge movement, frosted, gilt, with chatoned centre wheel, screw compensation balance and counterpoised lever.
