A Swiss 18K yellow gold keyless hunting cased pocket watch with a 32 cm yellow gold chain, circa 1870. Retailed by Palmer Bachelders & Cie, Boston. An engine-turned case with polished borders, hinged gold cuvette engraved: Made for Palmer Bachelders & Cie, Boston, by Patek Philippe & Co., Geneva. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds dial and blued steel Breguet hands.
A matte gilt movement, 17 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, straight-line calibrated lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel fl at balance, index regulator. Case signed and numbered, cuvette signed by the retailer.
